Product Range

The bellows product range covers 20 sizes from DN25/1in to DN900/36in. They are manufactured in two materials — virgin PTFE and static dissipating PTFE. FluoroFlow Bellows are available in sizes DN25/1in to DN150/6in and are available in extra heavy duty only. For larger diameters there is a choice of two wall thicknesses—a heavy duty (HD) and extra heavy duty (XHD).

The bellows can be manufactured with 2 to 10 convolutions. However, this is just the standard product. The flexibility of the manufacturing method is such that many special configurations can be produced to meet specific customer requirements.

For products requiring a higher pressure range than is possible with PTFE alone, we have our range of armoured bellows (FFAB) where the PTFE is surrounded
by a high pressure stainless steel shell.

Our Teflon ® Expansion joints are used in very demanding chemical processes. For more information please download our catalogue.

Key Benefits

  • Root Rings – PTFE bellows require external root rings to support the PTFE at high pressures, these are manufactured from 316Ti stainless steel. For bellows conveying chlorine we recommend Hastelloy root rings to overcome problems with stress corrosion cracking. For large diameter bellows working under vacuum we supply internal root rings in stainless steel, monel, Hastelloy, PTFE encapsulated etc.
  • Movements – Our standard range have sturdy tie rods with limiting sleeves to protect the bellows from excessive movements. We also supply hinged bellows, tie rods with spherical washers to limit axial movements and other special designs.
  • High Temperature Manufacturing – The bellows convolutions are formed at very high temperatures locking the PTFE shape, providing stable and uniform structure to the bellows. Stresses are not introduced into the PTFE material unlike when forming bellows at low temperatures.
  • Wide Product Range – We offer bellows joints from 1” NB to 36”NB with 2 convolution up to 10 convolutions. Bellows are produced in both virgin and static dissipating (Anti static) Fluroflon® PTFE materials.

Key Features

  • High Pressure Rating – With pressure ratings up to 16 barg / 232 p.s.i. the industry highest and working temperatures up to 200° C / 392° F.
  • Near Universal Corrosion Resistance – Virgin or static dissipating Flurorflon® PTFE to all wetted parts for use with the most corrosive acids and reactive chemicals.
  • Third Party TÜV Testing – Bellows have undergone pressure increase tests at 100° & 150°C / 212° & 302° F by TÜV in Germany, based on DIN EN ISO 9080 & DVS 2205-1 sh.21, as approved by Bayer, BASF, TÜV / IGRur.
  • High Temperature Forming – All bellow joints are manufactured from PTFE tube which is formed in to the bellows shape whilst at 300° C / 575° F which very effectively locks the bellows shape, reduces material stresses and preserves the PTFE structure.
  • Optimized Bellows Geometry with Uniform Wall Thicknesses – Our bellows give the best compromises between pressure handling and flexibility. We manufacture our own PTFE tubes with very accurate wall thicknesses especially to provide the best bellows available.
